Creative England and National Youth Theatre are very excited to announce the 26 young, aspiring filmmakers for shortFLIX (Led by Creative England, in partnership with National Youth Theatre and Sky Arts, with support from Creative Skillset’s Film Skills Fund). The cohort has been selected from a 300+ strong set of applications. We at Creative England were extremely impressed by the quality of applications and would like to thank everyone for applying.

shortFLIX is working towards giving unheard voices the chance to be heard, with an opportunity arising for undiscovered talent to enter the industry. The programme will support the selected cohort to develop short film scripts with professional training and guidance.

The next stage of shortFLIX see’s the selected engaging in a 2-day workshop in Birmingham today and tomorrow (9th/10th May), which looks into elements surrounding making a great story and the impact of short films. 5 of the 26 selected will receive a production award of upto £10,000 each and will be made for showcase on Sky Arts.
