Hollywood visited Yorkshire late last year when ‘Miss You Already’ – the comedy drama starring Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette – shot in this picturesque English region.
Creative England’s Production Services team were on hand when the famous pair visited the area, with our Production Liaison Manager for Yorkshire, Chris Hordley, on hand to offer location advice and secure necessary filming permissions.
The film follows Milly (Toni Collette) and Jess (Drew Barrymore), two childhood friends who have stuck together through life’s highs and lows. However when Milly is hit with some life threatening news, their long-enduring friendship is put to the ultimate test.
Where was ‘Miss You Already’ Filmed?
‘Miss You Already’ shot primarily in London with additional scenes shot in and around the Yorkshire area. Barrymore and Collette travelled to Yorkshire to shoot a segment of the story involving a road trip inspired by Milly’s life altering news.
Locals will no doubt recognize locations such as Ilkley Moor in West Yorkshire when the pair embark on their impromptu trip to escape the hustle and bustle of central London. Whilst in the region, the famous couple shot scenes at the Cow and Calf Rocks and The Cow and Calf Hotel on Ilkley moor and also in the picturesque village of Haworth, including Haworth Station which is part of the historic Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
In order to secure the necessary filming permissions, Creative England’s Production Liaison Manager for Yorkshire Chris Hordley worked closely with our Film Partners in Bradford City of Film. Together they were able to ensure the production experienced a smooth shoot.
