Uncovering talent

Creative England’s annual CE50 highlights some of the exceptional talent that we believe will be central to the UK’s creative economy in the coming years. The people featured in the CE50 are the talented minds at the very forefront of creativity. Find out about CE50 for 2019 here.

Creative England works with partners to develop programmes and initiatives that bring talent together, cultivate new ideas and create content. Initiatives include:

shortFLIX

shortFLIX is a short film initiative for aspiring new filmmakers aged 18-25 who are not in full-time education, employment or training. It seeks out ideas from creative, talented and ambitious young people that have the potential to make great short films for broadcast on Sky Arts. The initiative is led by Creative England in partnership with Sky Arts, and is supported by the ScreenSkills Film Skills Fund with contributions from UK film productions.

iFeatures

iFeatures is Creative England’s annual feature film lab programme driving the development of low-budget, high-quality debut features from the most outstanding, daring and distinctive storytellers across the UK. The programme is run by Creative England and supported by the BFI, awarding funds from the National Lottery, BBC Films and the ScreenSkills Film Skills Fund with contributions from UK film productions.

Gameslab

GamesLab is a regional initiative focused on independent games developers, and provides access to specialist support, early stage investment and advice. Crucially it also provides visibility and access to the networks needed to build communities, develop businesses and support growth.
